Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT)

organized a special Symposium on “Functional Materials for Sustainability”

for celebrating SIIT’s 30th anniversary

a special Symposium on “Functional Materials for Sustainability” was organized by

the Functional Advanced Materials Engineering (FAME) of SIIT. The Symposium is one of the

activities to celebrate SIIT’s 30th anniversary. It is also a part of research projects awarded to

Prof. Pramuan Tangboriboonrat and Asst. Prof. Chariya Kaewsaneha by the Program

Management Unit for Human Resources & Institutional Development, Research, and

Innovation of NXPO, under the Partnership Initiative Fund. These projects aim to support
highly-qualified researchers from Thailand to collaborate and build a strong research network

with distinguished researchers from around the world, especially in multidisciplinary fields.

The current projects bring a close collaboration among researchers from the FAME Research

Center of SIIT, Mahidol University, RMUTT, NANOTEC of NSTDA, and Claude Bernard University

Lyon 1. This Symposium provides good opportunities for researchers in the network to

present and share the progress from their ongoing collaborative work through 11 keynote

and invited lectures, led by Prof. A. Elaissari, Claude Bernard University Lyon 1, France, and
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pakorn Opaprakasit, Head of FAME, and 19 poster presentations. There are

more than 70 participants from 5 institutions.
