P. 7
HIGHLIGHTS HIGHLIGHTS
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surat
Teerakapibal, Vice Rector for
Administration (Tha Prachan)
and International Affairs,
said that Thammasat will act
as the Regional Internship
Center in Southeast Asia
to recruit eligible students
from ASEAN universities in
Indonesia, the Philippines,
Thailand and Vietnam to
intern at par ticipating
energy-related institutions. The
internship provides stipends
for living expenses, travel
costs, and accommodation.
Dr. Surat stressed that the
recruitment process will be
conducted equally, regardless
of gender or other status.
Lois Varrick, CEO of CORE
International and the Officer-in-
Charge of USAID E4SEA, noted
that E4SEA will help to bridge
the inequality in the gender
gap and reduce the disparity
as well as expand career
opportunities in the energy
sector for all.
The Memorandum of Understanding
between Thammasat and USAID, signed
on 7 November 22, promotes gender
equality, particularly in male-dominated
industries like the energy sector.
Recently, proposals have been received
from several leading companies in
Thailand to support the internship
program in its goals. The project will
be initially carried out in two batches:
the first batch will be from February
to March, 2023, and the second, from
June to July, 2023. The recruitment
process has already recently begun.
