         CLASSES




            Thammasat  Tha  Prachan  has  teamed  up  with
         the local community to organize monthly Cooking
         Classes by well-known vendors who have contributed
         to  the  community’s  reputation  as  a  food-haven.
         Past outdoor cooking classes have featured how to
         make  “Bok-kia” (a Hainan Chinese icy dessert),
         “Patonggo” (a 45-year-old recipe for the Thai style
         deep-fried  sticky  peanut  bread),  and  “Tub  Tim   HISTORICAL AND
         Krob” (with crunchy and refreshing water chestnut   VIBRANT
         pieces wrapped in chewy dough in rich and creamy
         coconut milk).                                 COMMUNITIES


                                                          The Tha Prachan and Tha Maharaj community
                                                        is located on Prachan Road in the historically rich
                                                        Rattanakosin Island area of Old Bangkok. Located
                                                        on  the  east  bank  of  the  Chao  Phraya  river,  the
                                                        community  is  surrounded  by  rich  cultural
                                                        heritage sites and tourist attractions of Thai arts,
                                                        museums, The Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun
                                                        (The Temple of Dawn). Also, Thai style restaurants
                                                        abound, serving up all kinds of foods, with delightful
                                                        riverside views.
                                                          Bang Lamphu, a neighborhood in the old town
                                                        community,  offers  many  sites  of  historical  and
                                                        cultural importance and is internationally famous for
                                                        its nightlife. Take a walk in the late afternoon or early
                                                        evening and head towards Khaosan Road to unwind
                                                        with food, drink and the exciting nightlife. Or just
                                                        people-watch from a sidewalk café and connect with
                                                        travelers from around the world.  Khaosan Road’s
                                                        reputation is that of “Backpackers Central”.
