Consideration to Continue His Ideals
Starting Point of His Permanent Asylum
As a result of the Democratic Movement of February
26 ’s defeat, Mr. Pridi had to seek asylum from other country once

again, that is, he had to hide in the country for 6 months, before
escaping via ship, and debarked onto an island, which was governed
by Holland back then, before embarking to Singapore, Hong Kong,
and sought asylum in the People’s Republic of China, between 1949
and 1970, for over 21 years. Later, in 1970, Mr. Pridi left China to
stay in France until 1983 for 13 years.
Serious Accusation
While he was a refugee in other country, some people
exploited such opportunity to frame Mr. Pridi several times that
he was involved with the death of His Majesty Ananda Mahidol.
Mr. Pridi exercised his right to sue for libel with many cases. And
in every of those cases, Mr. Pridi was eventually accepted by the
litigants that he was an innocent, and that he had no part in the
King’s death.
Also, the British Ambassador to Bangkok had once started
his report (dated June 12 1946) where he informed the Ministry
