presented his thesis in the subject of Du sort des Sociétés de
Personnes en cas de Décès d’un Associé: Étude de droit
français et de droit comparé (Status of a partnership, for the
case where one partner has passed away: comparative study
of French law and others). Considering this research and thesis,
based on academic measurement, this should undeniably place Mr.
Pridi Banomyong as an expert on partnership law.

Political Economy

However, his attention toward economy problem, as a
result of his f rsthand experience when he helped in his father’s
paddy f eld, partially drove Mr. Pridi to feel unsatisf ed from solely
studying about laws, and pushed him to try and study in another
f eld, that is, Economics where he believed that such knowledge
would help solve the problem that he had experienced.
Therefore, he passed the exam and graduated with
another certif cate, that is, ‘Diploma of Superior Education in
Political Economy’ (Diplôme d’Études Supérieures d’Économie
politique). This curriculum consisted of Extraordinary Economics,
History of Economy Doctrine, Financial Law and Science, Labor Law
and Science, and etc. As a result, he learned about many economy
systems, including socialism economy for economy plan. All of these
should ref ect such great determination of this young graduate.

Very important consequences of these studies occurred
afterward, especially when he proposed Economy Framework in
1933 and clearly depicted his thoughts on this subject, as seen from
his interview with Dr. Chattip Nartsupa, which can be summarized
