            revolutionists from many countries…”

               The Great Scheme

                     On Rue Henri Martin, a cool and pleasant street which
            stretches over the length of 500 meters, Lieutenant Prayun
            Phamonmontri invited Mr. Pridi on a walk and discussion, some of
            their discussion was recorded as follows.
                     “Some mentioned about whispers from many
            people who wish to convert from Absolutism but no one
            actually means it. Therefore, we must not just discuss but
            we must act, from small to large, by laying down method
            for recruiting trustworthy comrades in order to form the
            f rst  cell.  Afterward,  I’ve  invited  Lieutenant  Plaek  and
            Second Lieutenane Tassanai, who relocated from their initial
            residence to the my neighbor, at Quarier-Latin. Here, we had
            abundant chances for daily discussion, and we’ve recruited
            many more comrades.”

               The New Wave of Political Momentum

                     In February 1926, Mr. Pridi and six other friends convened
            at a dormitory, on Rue du Sommerard Street in Paris. The convention
            lasted  for  5  days  and  was  joined  by  7  participants,  namely,
            Lieutenant Prayun Phamonmontri, Lieutenant Plaek Khittasangkha,
            Second Lieutenane Tassanai Mitrpakdi, Mr. Tua Lapanukrom, Luang
            Siriratchamaitri (Mr. Jaroon Singhaseni), Mr. Naep Phahonyothin,
            and Mr. Pridi Banomyong.
                     This was the origin of the movement, under the name
            “Khana Ratsadon” (The People’s Party”), where the group major
