policy, namely, “the 6 Principles of Khana Ratsadon” was founded,
which comprised:
1. To maintain the supreme power of the Thai people such
as independency of Thai politics, jurisdiction, economy,
and etc.
2. To maintain national security, in order to minimize
wrong doing.
3. To maintain the economic welfare of the Thai people in
accordance with the National Economic Project, where
the new regime must provide job opportunity to every
citizen, and lay down national economic project, and
must not let people starve.
4. To protect the equality of the Thai people. (And not just
allowing the royal to have more rights than commoners
as it is the current situation at the time.)
5. To maintain the people’s rights and liberties, insofar
as they are not inconsistent with any of the above-
mentioned principles.
6. To provide public education for all citizens.
Returning to Homeland
On March 9 1926, Mr. Pridi returned to Siam by Japanese

steamer, where he left from Marseille’s port, in the south of France,
and debarked on April 1 of the same year.

Within the f rst year of returning to Siam, Mr. Pridi
became a judge of the Ministry of Justice, where his f rst
responsibility was training attorney for the Foreign Court and the
Court of Foreign Case for 6 months as well as serving as a justice’s
clerk for recording cases of the Supreme Court for another 6
months.
Then he became Assistant Secretary of the Law Drafting
Department (which is currently known as The Of ice of Council of
