the Great Revolution. It was also a document that declared the
                foundation of the new regime, which substituted the ancient regime,
                where the drafter represented and warranted to the public that this
                was the principle of human rights.
                        Secondly,  in  terms  of  state’s  administration,  this
                declaration described the six principles, which served as a guideline
                for  administration  under  the  new  regime.  In  this  aspect,  the
                Declaration of Khana Ratsadon was comparable, in terms of status
                and importance, to “Declaration of Human and Citizen Right 1789”
                (La Déclaration universelle des droits de l’homme et du citoyen)
                which was declared after the French Revolution.


                  The First Constitution

                        Afterward, on June 27  1932, the f rst Constitution of
                                            th
                Siam Government, B.E. 2475, which was also known as the f rst
                constitution of Siam, was announced. This constitution was drafted
                by Mr. Pridi as well, but after King Rama VII added the word
                ‘temporary’, it had to be later replaced by permanent constitution.


                  Works with the House of Representatives

                        On June 28  1932, Mr. Pridi was appointed as a member

                of the House of Representatives, where he was later appointed by
                the House of Representatives as secretary (the f rst secretary of
                the House), as well as member of the drafting committee of the
                permanent constitution, which was announced as the country’s
                constitution on December 10  1932.

                  Works with the Management

                        Mr. Pridi was appointed by the House of Representatives
                to  be  a  member  of  “The  Citizen  Committee”,  where  Phraya
                Manopakorn Nititada served as “the Chairman of the Citizen
                Committee”. The committee was disbanded after announcement of
