On June 20 1933, Colonel Phraya Phahonphonphayuha-

sena, a the leader, lead the army, navy, and civilian personnel to
seize the country’s government, in order to re-open the House of
Representative, and to bring back to Constitution, dated December
10 1932, to full ef ect and to found the new government, where

Phraya Phahonphonphayuhasena served as the prime minister.
Returning to Siam
Mr. Pridi was contacted by the new government to return,
and returned to the country on September 29 1933. On October 1
th

1933, Mr. Pridi was appointed as a minister.
The Second Counter-Attack
to the Great Revolution
Between October 11 and 24 1933 Boworndej rebellion
th

had occurred, when Prince Boworndej, former commander in chief
of Ministry of the Ministry of Defence, and his group, under the
name ‘National Rescue Council’, mobilized the army from Khorat
and surrounded the capital city, and issued several demands
to the government, especially the demand for increase of the
King’s authority. Their most prominent goal was to overthrow the
government and to ‘prohibit the use of authority or opportunity
in any position to spread the doctrine that one prefers, or
to force other, whether directly or indirectly, to follow such
doctrine.” Eventually, this rebellion lost to the lawful government.
